Q: What software do you use to make GIFs? How do you create GIFs?
A: GOM Player or VLC Player for grabbing the frames. Photoshop CS5 for tweaking, arranging and animating GIFs. I don’t import video into Photoshop, I grab each frame by hand because I have better control. There are a lot of free GIF maker programs and websites out there so google around.

Q: Why isn’t my animated GIF working on Tumblr? Why isn’t my animated GIF moving? How do you post gifs?
A: Tumblr has a limit on GIF file sizes. Keep your gifs below 1MB (1024kb) and below 500 pixels width or Tumblr will not display them properly and will most likely display only the first frame of the animation. Try reducing colors or adding noise effects to reduce the file size dramatically. GIFs should be posted as Photo posts.

Q: What does your tag “Mixed Soup” mean?
A: It’s a tag I use when posting single gifs that are not a part of a collection. http://gifmovie.tumblr.com/tagged/Mixed_Soup 

Q: Promote me on Tumblr?
A: No, I don’t do promos on demand.

Q: What is GIF?
A: (Graphics Interchange Format) is one of many graphic formats used on the Web. It was introduced in 1987 as one of the first image formats commonly used on Web sites. It’s main purpose was to reduce the file size of images by degrading the quality. GIF supports only 256 colors.

Q: What’s the name of the font you used to write Gifmovie on top of your blog?
A: It’s Miss Le Gatees by Alejandro Paul for Sudtipos Type Foundry.
